Planned activities for the reformed GPS

Key implementation activities include:

  • Setting up senior leadership, accountability and governance arrangements;
  • Establishment of a reformed GPS with a new membership structure;
  • Creating new routes for both graduate and mid career entry to the profession;
  • Conducting an early study on reward and remuneration;
  • Planning and holding a launch event with the Financial Secretary and OGC's Chief Executive;
  • Holding meetings with Commercial Directors; and
  • Designing a virtual academy to provide training and leading edge research.

Challenges facing the reformed GPS

The challenges the workstream faces include:

  • Raising the profile of procurement  and extending its influence; 
  • Establishing consensus support (both decisions and resources);
  • Identifying the gaps in skills, talent and capability; and
  • Creating enthusiasm for the reformed GPS.
