Planned activities for the reformed GPS
Key implementation activities include:
- Setting up senior leadership, accountability and governance arrangements;
- Establishment of a reformed GPS with a new membership structure;
- Creating new routes for both graduate and mid career entry to the profession;
- Conducting an early study on reward and remuneration;
- Planning and holding a launch event with the Financial Secretary and OGC's Chief Executive;
- Holding meetings with Commercial Directors; and
- Designing a virtual academy to provide training and leading edge research.
Challenges facing the reformed GPS
The challenges the workstream faces include:
- Raising the profile of procurement and extending its influence;
- Establishing consensus support (both decisions and resources);
- Identifying the gaps in skills, talent and capability; and
- Creating enthusiasm for the reformed GPS.
