Released on 31/01/2008
Following the highly successful launch of the Skills Framework for Procurement Practitioners in September 2007, the GPS has published a second version to reflect developments in procurement policies and practice.
Developed to support the Transforming Government Procurement agenda (see section 2.4 Raising Skills) the Skills Framework for Procurement Practitioners is available to public sector bodies to create or enhance their own skills frameworks and to support career development for procurement professionals.
Added to the original skill sets published in version one are Category Management, Collaborative Procurement and Corporate Social Responsibility, which were identified for inclusion by early feedback from users. A further refresh is planned for summer 2008 with a section on Commissioning to be included.
If you have any comments or contributions to make, or have questions about how to use the GPS Skills Framework for Procurement Professionals, please contact the OGC Service Desk or phone 0845 000 4999. Please also let us know how you and your Department are making use of this framework.
