Two British companies have been awarded contracts for publishing the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) best practice portfolio and for accreditation services.
OGC has awarded the contract for publishing services to The Stationery Office (TSO), and the contract for accreditation services to the APM Group Ltd. Both were successful bidders in the Commercial Activity Recompetition (CAR), regarding the publishing and accreditation of OGC's best practice guidance.
OGC owns and maintains the portfolio of best practice guidance, which is supported through commercial arrangements for services in publishing and qualification or accreditation of training and consultancy services.
They include OGC's world renowned IT Infrastructure Library® (ITIL®) and PRINCE2®, as well as the other best practice tools, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and Management of Risk (M_o_R®).
OGC's Deputy Chief Executive Peter Fanning said: "OGC remains committed to its best practice guidance, and using commercial partnerships has proven to be an efficient way to support the portfolio. We look forward to working with our partners as they develop innovative and effective initiatives to deliver OGC products to our customers."
The award follows a rigorous procurement process, which began in July 2005, with the contract originally advertised in Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).
The new arrangements, which will replace existing contracts, are expected to become fully effective by January 2007, after a transition period, for five years.
