The Government Procurement Graduate Scheme's (GPGS) graduates continue to impress. Their first examination - part one of the Certificate of Competence in Purchasing and Supply - resulted in eight distinctions from 13 entrants. Course Director Richard Anstis of the National School of Government commented on how much his team had "enjoyed delivering training to such a responsive, intelligent and receptive group." Richard was confident "that they will do well in subsequent exams".
Kavalneer Walia, GPS Director wrote to the graduates to congratulate them on their success: "This bodes extremely well for your individual careers and indeed for the GPGS programme as a whole. I encourage you to maintain these high standards and continue to work towards building a strong platform from which to build your procurement career in the Civil Service."
It is not too late for government departments to offer placements for the scheme's second year - recruiting now for successful applicants to start in September 2008. For more information, contact David Cronin on 020 7271 1312 or via David.Cronin@ogc.gsi.gov.uk.
