Note to reader ' Due to the GPS reviewing their core tools and strategies the Pioneer working Group has been put on hold til further notice. Should you have any questions please contact the OGC Service Desk.'
The Government Procurement Service is launching 'Pioneer': a programme of exploration, finding new answers to procurement challenges.
Pioneer will be led by GPS with the involvement of a working group of approxiamately ten colleagues from across Whitehall. These 'Pioneers' will be staff who are looking for a professional challenge and whose roles involve procurement strategy. They will work with GPS to identify the complex issues that leading academics could usefully interrogate, to extract evidence, ideas and outcomes for the development of new procurement practices and/or guidance to support GPS members.
Pioneers will lead on sharing and critically debating the results with the wider community to stimulate a culture of innovation and influence the way people work and make decisions. This is all part of the GPS drive to improve capability, capacity and the delivery of government procurement.
Kavalneer Walia Director of GPS explained that "This is an exciting new group for GPS members. It allows members to work together with the research community, to share knowledge and tackle head-on the challenges we face in procurement. This is another step forward in helping our GPS community, listening to our community and acting in response to members' needs."
If you consider yourself a potential Pioneer and are intersted in getting involved in this forward thinking group, and finding out how it contributes to your own professional development, contact the OGC Service Desk on 0845 0004999.
