OGC's remit was formally extended to include the Ministry of Defence (MOD) at the end of 2004. Since then we have been working with the MOD to support a range of delivery related activities within the MOD.

We manage the cross-government Efficiency Programme, to which the MOD is contributing.

Procurement, Programme and Project Management

OGC owns procurement policy on behalf of UK government as a whole. We provide generic guidance and products that defence personnel are welcome to use in addition to what is available from MOD sources.

Skills and Professional Development

The MOD invests heavily in the training and development of staff involved in defence delivery activities. Project and programme management capability are included in the MOD's core competency framework and performance partnership agreement. We provide generic skills advice for procurement and project and programme management professionals across the public sector, which defence personnel are welcome to use in addition to what is available from MOD sources.

OGC GatewayTM process for programme and project assurance

We are working with the Director General Management and Organisation (DGMO) towards MOD authorisation to perform OGC Gateway independent peer reviews of defence projects and programmes.
