Formal endorsement to extend OGC's reach to the National Health Service (NHS) was granted at the end of 2004. Since then we have been working to support a range of delivery programmes within the Department of Health (DH) and across the NHS.Efficiency and service improvement - delivering quality and value
OGC is responsible for managing the cross-government Efficiency Programme. We work with the Department of Health to support the NHS drive for greater productivity and efficiency. For example, we supported the development of a benefits management and transformation change framework that now forms a vital part of the integrated service improvement programme.- Frequently asked questions about the Government's Efficiency Programme

Procurement
NHS purchasing is executed through the Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA), by buying confederations or by individual NHS trusts. OGC is responsible for procurement policy on behalf of UK government, and works with the DH commercial directorate to support improved procurement. We provide generic advice and guidance for procurement practitioners right across the public sector, which health personnel are welcome to use in addition to what is available from DH and PASA.- NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA)
