OGC works with government departments on an agreed set of priorities, and our work with their executive agencies, non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs) and other associated bodies is mostly via these parent departments rather than direct. For smaller departments and other UK public bodies we offer self-service guidance and products, available from this site or from the OGC Service Desk.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
Public sector organisations from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are welcome to use the guidance and products available on this site but should check with the relevant Centre of Expertise in their parent body before implementing, as policy for the Efficiency Programme, procurement (with the exception of European and international procurement), and programme and project management (PPM), has been delegated to the devolved assemblies.

Procurement
We develop procurement policy on behalf of the UK Government and work closely with heads of procurement in English departments on areas of cross-government interest, such as collaboration. Each English department has its own central procurement team that can be contacted for specific best practice guidance for staff in departments, NDPBs and agencies. Markets and Collaborative Procurement
Our team works with Central Government and the wider public sector to improve access to better deals for the whole of the public sector by working with and through Professional Buying Organisations (PBOs). This activity includes sharing information and best practice frameworks through groups such as the Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnerships. We strive to improve the quality of information available on procurement spend from the public sector to ensure the implementation of common standards and greater transparency. We also provide best practice guidance on the procurement of various categories of spend, as well eProcurement tools, such as the Contracts Database and eAuctions.
