What you need to do

Carry out Post Implementation Reviews or equivalent reviews during operational service to assess business benefits against what is expected in the business case.

Points to consider

The purpose of the Post Implementation Review (or equivalent) is to answer the question: did we achieve what we set out to do, in business terms? The key consideration is to focus on the benefits in terms of successful outcomes for the business rather than the delivery of (say) systems or new buildings. You should also identify lessons learned for the future. (Note that there may be several of these reviews during operational running.)
