Contract management activities can be divided into three areas: service delivery management, relationship management and contract administration. See Contract management guidelines.

Points to consider

All three areas must be proactively managed.

There may be an individual or a group assigned to each area, or a single individual may cover two or more areas.

Different areas will require different skills and knowledge.
