LICENCE CRITERIA

The use of the complete or substantial content of an OGC Value Added product is licensed only where the applicant also adds value to it in the following ways:

• By creating a product with a distinct purpose which is different from that of the original material;
• By satisfying one or more of the following conditions:
• It brings together information from a variety of sources, including core Crown copyright information;
• It adds commentary, analysis, indexing, search facilities or text retrieval software in ways which extend its usefulness as a reference tool;
• It translates the material into languages other than English.

In assessing whether your application adds value to the portfolio of OGC products we confirm it meets the above points, and also consider:

• The amount of new material compared to the amount of OGC source material in the product;
• Whether when compared to an OGC product or service the product is distinctive and clearly differentiated from the OGC product or service;
• Whether it extends the range of products available by providing a product or service with a different purpose to the portfolio of OGC materials; and,
• Whether it enhances customers' understanding of OGC's guidance.

All licences are non-exclusive and non-transferable.
Please note that OGC re-use licences do not allow you to imply that you are providing accredited services to support any OGC products or services.
