The Government Procurement Graduate Scheme's (GPGS) graduates are going from strength to strength passing their final Certificate of Competence exams with flying colours. The last two exams saw the achievement of 7 distinctions and 10 credits. The trainees are nearing the end of their first year in post and are looking to broaden their experience even further by arranging placements in other Departments.
The GPGS was established as part of a wider strategy to ensure the availability of top-class procurement professionals for government. Recruitment for a second cohort is underway and trainees will be in posts across ten Departments by September this year.
