Certificate of competence in purchasing and supply - examinations board: terms of reference

The examinations board is a permanent body charged with responsibility to safeguard the standards and equivalence of training for the Certificate of Competence in Purchasing and Supply.

The Board's terms of reference are:

  • Advise on format and content of training;
  • Monitor consistency and quality of training delivery and provider materials;
  • Ensure that qualifications are up to date, reflect OGC best practice guidance and have CIPS equivalence to the Graduate Diploma foundation stage;
  • Consider and grant equivalence to non-Civil Service College training courses in purchasing and supply;
  • Take responsibility for the setting and marking of examinations;
  • Evaluate and report to departments on the quality of delegates being submitted;
  • Lead on CPD issues and ensure consistent transfer of training skills into departments.
