The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) develops and publishes a wide range of guidance that is protected by Crown copyright and, in some cases, Trade Marks. This material is OGC's intellectual property. OGC's guidance covers a wide range of best practice and best management practice, including programme and project management, and procurement and service management. The guidance exists in various formats, including web-based material, formally published books, CD roms etc. To assist us in providing quality products and services based on our best management practice methodologies OGC has appointed an Official Publisher, The Stationery Office (TSO) and an Official Accreditor, APM Group (APMG), you can find more information on the products and services they provide by looking at the official Best Management Practice website.
A quick summary about OGC's Best Practice Portfolio and complementary products can be found by reading our explanatory overview.
OGC aims to make its best practice easily accessible to everyone wishing to make use of it for example by organisations reproducing it into their own best practice standards, or incorporating it in commercial products and services. Permission to reuse OGC's intellectual property is provided largely through licensing.
The reuse of OGC best practice is encouraged, but whatever the form of reuse, you will need permission to reuse the material. Please read on, to see how to obtain the required permission that you will need.
