Introduction

This information provides you with details about Crown copyright and describes how you can apply for and get permission to re-use OGC information. It confirms our commitment to openness and transparency in relation to information fair trading.

When can I use OGC copyright material?

Copyright of all material published by OGC, or on OGC's behalf, is owned by the Crown. Copyright protection applies to all OGC's material in any media, wherever it is accessed or available. If you wish to re-use OGC's Crown copyright material you must comply with the following:

1. Material on the OGC website
You may re-use material appearing on the OGC Website providing your re-use is in accordance with the waiver notice which is detailed on the page entitled "Use of content from OGC's website".  

2. OGC ICT Model terms and conditions
You may re-use OGC's ICT Model terms and conditions and guidance which appear on the Partnerships UK (PUK) website. Such re-use must be in accordance with the statement appearing on the PUK website. 

3. OGC Best Management Practice Products and Services
OGC produces a range of material and provides services in support of its Best Management Practice portfolio (e.g. ITIL, PRINCE2, MSP M_o_R, P3O). These products and services are provided by OGC's official partners in two specific areas:

Products: including books, e-books, CD roms, online subscriptions, etc are provided via our Official Publisher, The Stationery Office (TSO) http://www.best-management-practice.com/Publications-Library/

Services: including exams, accredited training organisations, accredited consultancy organisations, etc are all provided by our Official Accreditor, APM Group (APMG)  http://www.apmgroup.co.uk/home/home.asp

If you wish to re-use any material from these products and services you will need a licence, see 4 below.

4. Licences
If you wish to use Crown copyright material which is not covered by the waiver notice mentioned in 1 above, then you will need a licence. There are a range of licences available.  To obtain a licence you should consult the scheme explained page which gives information on the licences available and explains the procedure for applying for a licence

If you wish to use one of our Best Management Practice portfolio trade marks together with our copyright material you should apply to APMG who operate the scheme on our behalf. 5. Charging for re-use
We may make a charge depending on the material you wish to use and how you wish to use it for more information please consult our charging document . Where we do make a charge for re-use this is to partially offset the cost of producing and providing the documentation/information, and including a reasonable return on investment

6. The Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations
The Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations ("PSI Regulations") aim to encourage the re-use of public sector information by removing obstacles that may stand in the way of re-use and so facilitate the wider exploitation of information held by public bodies. OGC is pleased comply with the PSI regulations and provides a range of licensing arrangements directly and also through its partner organisations.  More information regarding the PSI Regulations and OGC can be found on our  Re-use of Public Sector Information page.  

7. Making a complaint
