Closing a Programme

Programmes tend to last for many months - often a few years.  To avoid allowing the programme to drift on as if it is part of normal business, closing a programme provides a focus on achieving the end-goal of the programme.

What you need to do

The team is disbanded and individuals return to other duties within the organisations or are assigned to other responsibilities.

Points to consider

Any contracts used by the programme should be finalised and closed, or responsibility for continued contract management handed over to business management / operations.
