NAO Efficiency Toolkit

The National Audit Office has developed an Efficiency Toolkit to assist in assessing an organisation's current approach to achieving efficiency. The Toolkit helps identify opportunities for improvement and develop actionable recommendations. It is designed around a broad interpretation of what 'efficiency' means and is also relevant to some aspects of effectiveness - e.g. spending money on the right things.

The efficiency framework comprises the various factors that influence an organisation's efficiency:  19 business modules (such as customer demands, financial management and processes) - grouped in five areas (such as leadership and systems/operations). The Toolkit is available at:  www.nao.org.uk/efficiency/toolkit.
