A new agreement between OGC and the e-Government Unit (eGU) has been established to drive the effective use of Information Systems across Government.
The memorandum of understanding, signed by OGC's Peter Fanning and the e-Government Unit's Andrew Stott, confirms the details of the formal collaboration between OGC and eGU. OGC will lead the definition of commercial, financial and contractual delivery processes and the eGU will lead on strategic, architectural, technical and operational delivery as well as performance issues.
Although many topics fit easily into these categories, there is also a need to collaborate in a number of areas where close working will deliver the most appropriate and effective support for public sector organisations. The introduction to the memorandum explains the key generic principles of the joint relationship, which leads on to detailed information on how the two organisations will co-ordinate supplier relationship management. Further service memoranda will be included as they become available.
