OGC has released a disposal of surplus property section on its website, creating a central point to access guidance.
The guide has been produced by OGC to provide advice on property disposals to the public sector, including central government departments, agencies, non departmental public bodies (NDPBs). It has been drafted against the background of HM Treasury's 'Green Book', titled Appraisal and Evaluation in Central Government (April 2003) and Government Accounting (2000). Both reflect the Government's drive to make central government both more efficient and more accountable for the financial implications of its decisions.
These sources have been paired with best practice lessons learnt from OGCs experience in the successful management and disposal of their residual estate and from across the property and PPM industries. The guidance has been validated by a group of departmental representatives. Download the guide for the disposal of surplus property
