Welcome the springtime by joining us for a special conference in historic York on Monday, March 20, 2006.
This event will launch OGC's new one-day regional conferences for the Government Procurement Service for 2006.
This is an event that public sector procurement professionals cannot afford to miss.
You will hear first-hand, hot off the press, the details of how a wide range of new and improved membership services will be delivered this year.
You will also hear OGC's Chief Executive John Oughton deliver the keynote speech, followed by a line-up of leading public procurement leaders - experts who will cover vital topics ranging from the practicalities of sustainable procurement to procurement efficiency, and advise you about the new EU procurement regulations and what the updated CIPS professional qualifications framework means to them.

The day will round off with a valuable networking session and a taste of Yorkshire's finest tea and cakes.
London event cancelled
An earlier event scheduled for London on March 3, 2006, has been cancelled. Delegates originally intending to attend the London event are strongly advised to reschedule and spend a day at the conference in York instead.
By train
From London King's Cross, the excellent high-speed train departs at 8am, taking you to York in comfort in one hour and 52 minutes - in time for a coffee before the conference begins. Two earlier trains leave at 7am and 7.30am
By train, York is just 26 minutes from Leeds, 51 minutes from Sheffield, an hour from Newcastle and 90 minutes from Manchester.
By road
Travel north on the M1 or A1 until you come to the A64 intersection - York is 15 minutes away via the dual carriageway.
York is also served by the A19, A1079 and A166 routes into the city, and frequent Park & Ride bus services operate into the city centre from sites next to the A64, A19, A1079 and A166.
Or, you may catch the 50-minute shuttle service from Heathrow airport to Leeds/Bradford airport, which is 45 minutes by road from York.
The conference venue is the strikingly beautiful Royal York Hotel - the impressive Victorian building on Station Road itself, conveniently situated beside the railway station, about two minutes' walk after you step off the train.
The Royal York Hotel, within the best-preserved ancient walls of England, is one of the finest conference venues in the north of England. This elegant hotel, set in three acres of private landscaped gardens, provides top quality accommodation and conference facilities right in the heart of the city, at Micklegate, close to major tourist attractions and shopping areas.
See for yourself what King George VI meant when he said, "The history of York is the history of England."
This event is open to Public Sector Procurement Professionals only.
