Mark Pedlingham appointed Head of the Government Procurement Service

Mark Pedlingham, OGC's Director of Strategic Supplier Relations, has been appointed Head of the Government Procurement Service (GPS).

The GPS was set up in 1999 to ensure staff have the right skills, experience and qualifications to enhance procurement in the public sector with the aim of delivering better public services.

Mark replaces Martin Sykes, Executive Director of Smarter Procurement and Head of the GPS, who has taken up the post of Chief Executive of Value Wales. Sally Collier will be assuming the role and duties of Executive Director of Smarter Procurement and will be filling Martin's position on the OGC Board.

Mark Pedlingham was previously Director General Logistics Procurement, Ministry Of Defence.
