At a sell-out event in London, Sharon Taylor, Chief Architect, and the ITIL authors presented a day of seminars about the new ITIL as part of the official launch. After an introduction, each author pair presented their book. Later, details were given of the new qualification scheme, followed by a Q & A session. The sessions were enthusiastically received by attendees, who were also given plenty of time to network and attend the exhibition mounted by the Road Show Global Sponsors. After the London event, similar launch days will be held through the rest of June in Copenhagen, San Jose, Chicago, Seoul, Sydney and Sao Paulo, all hosted by itSMF International.
In the evening, OGC, TSO and APMG hosted a drinks reception after short speeches from Peter Fanning (Acting CEO, OGC), Janine Eves (TSO, Publisher) and Richard Pharro (MD, APM Group).
The new books are available from TSO. Electronic versions will follow soon. Complementary titles, including a new introduction and an update of "ITIL: small-scale implementation" are in an advanced stage of preparation, and translations of the core books are under way.
