The phrases "doing the right programmes and projects" and "doing programmes and projects right" are often used to describe the high level aims of the P3O model.
At its best, a P3O model is an integral part of ensuring that:
1. The strategies and performance requirements of an organisation are realised via projects, programmes and operational business units.
2. A joined-up set of outcomes and benefits is measured, managed, monitored and refined to ensure that optimal investment and strategic goals are achieved.
