Gateway Worldwide
The third Australasian Gateway Forum was hosted by the New Zealand Government's State Services Commission in Wellington in July. The conference was attended by OGC Gateway™ users from the Australian Federal Government, four Australian State bodies, Brisbane City Council, the New Zealand Government, and for the first time OGC was represented by Head of Brand Assurance, Phil Kemp.
The conference was opened by New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon Bill English, who fully supported the need for a robust project assurance regime, particularly in this challenging financial climate. This was followed by two days of both practical working sessions e.g. on delivery confidence and capturing and using lessons learned, as well as informative presentations on Gateway related matters such as cultural leadership of change and long term strategic asset management.
With the increased use and maturity of the users, innovative new ideas for using Gateway are coming from our antipodean Gateway community. Their enthusiasm for the future use of OGC's product is high and looks to be in good hands.
OGC has also recently received a growing number of expressions of interest from the international PPM community to use OGC Gateway; recent contacts have been made by public sector organisations in South Korea, Japan, Israel, Jordan, South Africa, Kurdistan and Saudi Arabia.

Revised Risk Potential Assessment (RPA)
Over the last few months the RPA has been revised so that it reflects the PPM environment and to address known issues with the current form such as its ICT/construction bias, technical issues, and its ability to pass through departmental firewalls. The revised Word-based RPA is significantly different to the current spreadsheet-based tool, deriving its risk potential from a programme/project's self assessment of consequential impact and complexity.
During the summer the revised RPA tool has been tested by Departments, in parallel with using the current RPA. In late September (subject to a sufficient number of the revised RPA being tested), we aim to gather the final test results and any issues identified during the testing will be assessed with final changes made so that the revised RPA can be used from October.
For further details about the revised RPA, please contact your local Departmental Gateway Coordinator or the OGC Service Desk.
