Agency sourced temporary workers in education - Survey results 2007

The Department for Education and Skills' Centre for Procurement Performance (CPP) is working closely with the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) to examine existing supply teacher and agency arrangements available to schools across London. One of the outcomes of this work is the publication of a survey providing all the information needed to secure all Temporary Worker needs and, in so doing:

  • assure value for money, quality candidates and a high level of service;
  • enable the use of DfES/REC Quality accredited Agencies and, as importantly, those Agencies that have demonstrated their ability to meet the January 2007 Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education Guidelines;
  • is a one-stop-shop for a broad range of Temporary Workers in Schools;
  • provide cost transparency for each role;
  • complies with all current legislation regarding the Working Time Directive and National Insurance ensuring the Temporary Worker can take paid holiday;
  • provide key contact information for each Agency;
  • support buying decisions by presenting other useful commercial information; and
  • provide the opportunity to influence service delivery by seeking your feedback.

The results of the Survey are available here.
